After-School Programs
New Hope’s after-school program focuses on developing the intellectual, social, and emotional competencies not provided within a traditional classroom setting. We utilize current research around trauma and healthy development such as Benevolent Childhood Experiences (BCE’s), Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s), and the Child Hope Scale. Our specialized program supports our children’s need for healthy development, decision-making abilities, and critical thinking skills. The expertise of our staff and best practices focused on youth development, mental health strategies, and trauma-informed care are critical to the success of our site-based support. Twice-weekly after-school support groups occur at our on-site school locations.
New Hope currently provides after-school services at the following locations:

Summer Camps
New Hope’s vibrant summer camps for youth ages 5-14 years are provided each year in the months of June and July. We have strategic partnerships with both St. Crispin’s Conference Center in Wewoka, OK, and Trinity Episcopal Church in Tulsa, OK, which allow for summer camp sessions to be held in both a sleep-away camp structure and a day camp structure. The purpose of our summer camps is to provide our children the opportunity to have an exciting summer camp experience, develop self-confidence, and learn life skills as they interact with peers and positive adult role-models in a safe environment.
New Hope’s sleep-away camp experience, where participants will stay with New Hope staff for the duration of the camp time, is for youth ages 9-14 years. Camp activities typically include swimming, canoeing, fishing, archery, hiking, ropes courses, games, sports, and arts/crafts.
New Hope’s day camp experience, for children ages 5-8 years, is where our youngest participants will stay with New Hope staff during the day and be picked up each afternoon. Camp activities typically include games, sports, science, and arts/crafts. Field trips to local activities like Discovery Lab, Wheels and Thrills, Andy B’s, Gathering Place, and more are included.
Summer Camp
New Hope summer camps provide youth with opportunities to socialize and escape the stressors of day to day life. We offer social and emotional learning, literacy, and outdoor activities to help youth gain lifelong friends and valuable life skills.
Case Management
New Hope’s case management services are led by a licensed, master’s level social worker to facilitate referrals to both internal services within New Hope’s scope and external services provided by other nonprofits and State agencies. Current case management activities also include regular visits to two Oklahoma correctional facilities and a strong partnership with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections and the Oklahoma Commission on Children and Youth.
Community Events
Throughout the calendar year, New Hope offers regular community events and resource events for justice involved families. Examples of events include our Back to School Bash, Halloween Carnival, Thanksgiving meal distribution, Holiday Party, Christmas holiday wish list adoptions for enrolled youth, family bingo night, family skate night, and resource fairs.
